Dear Colleagues,
I, as the Chairperson of the Scientific Committee, respectfully welcome you all to the 45th National Congress of Radiology organised by the Turkish Society of Radiology. This year, our congress will be held on 12th to 16th of November 2024 at the Pine Beach Belek Congress Centre in Antalya, Türkiye. On behalf of the Scientific Committee, I am very pleased to invite all our esteemed colleagues to this congress.
Our national society is the most important platform which brings the radiology family together. This year we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Turkish Society of Radiology at our congress. We will experience the pride and excitement of this centennial event together.
The main topic of our national congress this year is ‘Pain from Head to Toe’. This is one of the main reasons for requesting radiological examinations and we think this topic will be very useful for our participants. While we, as radiologists, continue to explore the rapidly developing landscape of radiology in the world, in this period when we are at the dawn of a new era. The side topic of the congress is determined as ‘The Next Century of Radiology’ in order to celebrate the past century of radiology and to discuss the developments and situations that await us in the next century. We have started to work together with the Education and Scientific Research Groups for our congress, which is the most important contribution area in our continuing education. We expect the groups to convey the innovations and developments in technology and applications in their fields and the industry companies to contribute to these subjects.
In addition to panels with high scientific quality, the congress programme will include ‘30 Cases in 60 Minutes’ sessions, which have received many positive feedbacks and great interest in previous congresses, interactive small group workshops and half-day courses which will be prepared by our experienced colleagues. Apart from all of these, the ‘What We Will Talk Among Us’ session, ‘Film Reading Session’, which is indispensable for our congress, and ‘Satellite Symposiums’, will add strength to our congress. In particular, oral presentations and selected paper sessions, where our participants will have the opportunity to present and discuss their scientific studies, will take place in the congress, while poster presentations and cases of the day will be presented on the digital platform. We look forward to your valuable scientific studies and case experiences that will enrich our congress. Your participation and contributions to the oral presentation sessions will be very valuable and shed light on our young colleagues.
We will crown our congress with a ‘History of Radiology Session’ where the history of the Turkish Radiological Society and the development of radiology in the world and in our country from past to present will be presented. Also, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the foundation of our association with sessions where information, experiences and innovations will be shared in this historically important 2024 congress. With this meaningful congress, we want to take you on a sweet journey that will take you back to the past, make you think and make you smile with historical objects, documents and photograph exhibitions. Furthermore, the social activities and entertainment programs planned in our congress will enable you, all of our esteemed participants, to have a good time together, to catch up and to establish new friendships.
I would like to thank the representatives of the Education and Scientific Research Groups, all invited speakers and participants who will attend our congress for their valuable contributions to the scientific programme of the congress. I wish you to return home with positive gains and new research plans at the end of the congress.
I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the Congress Scientific Committee that we worked in harmony in the preparation of the TURKRAD 2024 Congress, to the Executive Committee of the Turkish Society of Radiology who supported us in every way and to everyone who contributed to the realisation of the congress.
At the beginning of the new century of the Turkish Society of Radiology, I look forward to meeting all of you, our esteemed colleagues at our national congress and wish you all a nice and productive congress both scientifically and socially.
Best Regards,
Prof. Dr. Berna OĞUZ
